RFoam is a specially formulated pour in place 2 pound polyurethane chemically cured two component foam system with superior thermal performance with an
r value of 7.1 per inch. RFoam is installed in lifts as the wall is being built. RFoam’s hi flow properties completely fills all voids and cavities of all shapes to provide a continuous and seamless hi performance insulation.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
RFoam is the B-component of a two-component polyurethane foam insulation system when reacted with the A-component it makes ridged polyurethane foam insulation. As a system it has a nominal 2.0 PCF pour in place density. RFoam was developed using 245 FA an EPA approved Zero ODP blowing agent. This product provides superior energy efficiency and thermal stability for pour in place wall systems. It is ideally designed for the RBlock Masonry Wall System.
DESCRIPTION USE:
RFoam is a high performance pour in place rigid polyurethane foam insulation system designed for molding application, walk in coolers, or where a medium density pour in place system is required. This product has superior adhesion to concrete facing in molding applications.
PRODUCT APPLICATION:
RFoam should be injected into a closed cavity where molding of ridge polyurethane foam insulation is desired. Proper ratio and mixing is essential to get the physical properties listed in the sheet. The data presented here should only be used as a guide since the actual foam properties are influenced by the efficiency of the foam processing, component temperatures, foam thickness, and ambient conditions. While the following technical information is based on results of actual tests, it should only be used as a guideline for typical chemical and physical properties. The user must test and qualify the product. Final determination of suitability is the responsibility of the end user.
CCPF:
Closed-cell polyurethane foam (CCPF) is composed of tiny cells with solid, unbroken cell walls that resemble inflated balloons piled tightly together. The cells are inflated with a special gas selected to make the insulation value of the foam as high as possible. Like the inflated tires that hold up an automobile, the gas-filled bubbles, when dried, create a material that is strong enough to walk on without major distortion. Wall-racking strength can by enhanced when CCPF is applied, and its strength makes it preferable for masonry applications. The high thermal resistance of the gas gives CCPF an R-value of approximately R-7 to R-8 per inch, according to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), which is significantly better than its open-cell alternative. It also acts as a vapor barrier, making it the product of choice if the insulation is likely to be exposed to high levels of moisture. Its density is generally 2 lb/ft3 (32 kilograms per cubic meter [kg/m3]).
RFoam specifications detail the unique formulation and qualities of this premium insulation designed for patented RBlock systems.
